A little bit of everything, from the saucy, to the serious. Nothing but the unvarnished truth, until I can come up with a better story. Until then I'll stick to the one I got, which is, Tigger did it.
On A Serious Note

In dealing with some health issues, for my 92 year old mother, it strikes me at how things have changed, and in my view, not for the better.
Take Health Care. Why do we now assume it is something that has to make a profit? Oh I know, people need ot make a living and all that, but today's health care is being controlled by big corporation, who have one think in mind, PROFITS.
And that is okay, especially if you are a stock holder, but it sure doesn't help the average person, now does it? Then too, even if you are lucky enough to live where there is National Health, somehow that drive for profits still exist, and that just, well, seems wrong.
Now many will argue that in a Capitalist Society, it is survival of the fittest, but then they are also the one's who claim to be solid religious citizens, which begs the question, where in any religion, does it preach survival of the fittest?
If we believe in a higher being, and in the precepts of charity, of compassion, how then do we justify making health care unattainable for the poor? How do we justify making health care, profitable or the domain of big business?
Maybe I am crazy, or just too old, but to me, health care that is affordable, and manageable, is a benefit to the entire society, including our Capitalistic one. I mean a healthy work force, free of worry on how to pay for being sick, has to mean increased productivity, doesn't it?
And if so, then doesn't that mean higher profits for business?
It confuses the shit out of me, because you know, we all are going to grow old, we are all going to need good health care, but we gut it, first chance we get, or ignore it, and how is that going to help us, especially if we don't win the lottery before we need health care?
